I remember choosing my classes for this semester and felt ecstatic to take JMS 220. I was finally going to be enrolled in a class that was going to give me better insight into what it means to be a better writer. One of the biggest goals I have for this class is to be more comfortable and confident in letting my peers read my work. I often find myself bashing on my own writing or wondering if my work was good enough in comparison to others. Therefore, I want this blog, as well as my own personal journaling, to help me grow as a writer.
Some of my other goals include improving my grammar, spelling and punctuation (GSP) as well as diversifying my sentence structure. I want to be able to edit my own work by easily identifying grammar or punctuation errors. To accomplish this, I will make an effort to actually retain the information I use to study for the GSP test this semester and to continuously practice GSP. Along with improving my GSP, hopefully, this will lead to my improvement of diversifying my sentence structures. I want to be able to keep a reader engaged with my writing by utilizing different sentence structures and more captivating words.
